Straight out of Nashville and onto your computer screens, I bring you up and coming horror starlet, Stacey Dixon. She has acted in 10 films in the past 3 years, 6 of them being horror related. During the interview I refer to her as a triple threat, but I quickly came to learn that she has many more talents that make her an interesting person as well as a stand out figure in independent horror. Before posting the interview, I would like to thank Stacey for agreeing to do this interview and being so prompt with her answers. Out of all three career paths, which do you think is your biggest passion? Stacey: I really like doing all these things but acting is where my passion lies. I am a tattoo artist as well! What was it like having that kind of responsibility opposed to having the responsibility of learning lines? Is either job harder than the other? Stacey: As a producer you take on so much work!

It seems appropriate that I happened to remember having received Cameron McCasland's indie slasher flick The Lashman on election morning. After all, what's more appropriate when thinking about politicians? The Lashman is an indie horror flick. You know what that means? It means that you're not going to get pristine imagery. You're not going to experience sound design without a few cracks here and there. You're probably not going to see any Oscar winning performances, but you may just see a Horror Society winning one. In other words, you're likely going to experience an up-and-coming filmmaker, cast and crew working wonders on a modest budget and cooking up a few chills n' thrills along the way. The Lashman is a retro-styled indie slasher flick, think s VHS late night delights, with a little more substance than you might expect along with some actual character development. While the film may prove disappointing to hardcore gorehounds, anyone who is even remotely in touch with the history of indie horror will find quite a bit to like here.
